The search box, as a visitor sees it

This is the real search page on the live demo, with fictional listings. The numbers match the notes.

  1. Plain-words search box. Type it the way you would say it.
  2. Filters for visitors who prefer fields: area, building, type, for sale or rent, price, bedrooms, bathrooms and feature checkboxes.
  3. Active, Pending and Coming soon. Active listings show by default.
  4. What was understood, as chips. Tap one to change or remove it.

— How it works

Three steps

1

Type it

"3-bed condo with ocean view under $2M" or "condo de 3 recámaras con vista al mar". Same box, either language.

2

See what was understood

Bedrooms, type, price and place appear as chips, so nothing is hidden and nothing is guessed in secret.

3

Change a chip, or keep going

Tap a chip to change it. If nothing matches exactly, the filters relax step by step instead of showing an empty page.

— What you get

The details

Plain words, English and Spanish

Both work, on the same search box. Spanish pages get Spanish text throughout.

Address, listing number or keywords

Search by street address, listing number, or description words like "boat dock" or "cocina blanca".

Chips you can see and change

What was understood shows up as chips, so a visitor can tap one to change it.

Never an empty page

Filters relax step by step (bedrooms, then price, then type) before it falls back to a search box and a lead form.

Rules first, AI optional

A rules-based fallback reads searches without an AI connection. AI makes it smarter; it is not required.

Active listings by default

Search shows active listings, with Active, Pending and Coming soon chips for visitors who want more.

When nothing matches exactly

This blog post on the live demo asked for condos under $1M. Nothing matched exactly, so the page says so and shows the nearest matches instead of an empty grid.

  1. A normal blog page with the search planted on it.
  2. "Nothing exact, so here is what is nearest."
A blog post page on the live demo that says nothing matched exactly and shows the closest matches as listing cards.

Questions about this feature

What can visitors type in the search box?

What they would say out loud, in English or Spanish: "3-bed condo with ocean view under $2M" or "condo de 3 recámaras con vista al mar". They can also type a street address, a listing number or description words like "boat dock" or "cocina blanca".

What if a visitor types something odd, or nothing matches?

The search never ends on an empty page. If nothing matches exactly, the filters relax step by step (bedrooms, then price, then type) before it falls back to a search box and a lead form. A rules-based fallback also reads searches without an AI connection.

Does it work in Spanish?

Yes. Search, listing cards, lead forms and grown pages all work in English and Spanish, with Spanish twin pages and hreflang between the two languages.

Do I need my own AI or API keys?

No. No API keys live on your site. AI features run through the IDX Bloom service, using your license key.

Does the search need AI?

No. A rules-based fallback reads searches without an AI connection. AI makes it smarter, and it runs through the IDX Bloom service, not through keys on your site.

How are prices like $1M or $800k read?

Correctly. Short forms such as $1M and $800k are read as one million and eight hundred thousand (fixed in version 1.1).
